In 2019, the Department of Digital, Culture Media & Sport conducted a Cyber Security Breaches Survey.

Here are a few of the highights:
  • 32% of businesses experienced a breach in the past 12 months
  • 49% of businesses experienced a cyber attack involving fraudulent emails or being directed to fraudulent sites
  • It took businesses on average 3 days to recover from a breach
  • Breaches cost businesses £4,180 on average with larger firms losing significantly more.
